Two overlapping bubbles illustrate the values of intersectionality and intersectional therapy

I offer therapy through an Intersectional Lens

I believe that all parts of you and your identity impact your well-being and how you move through the world. Therapy here starts with the belief that you are the expert on your own experience and becomes an exploration into what may cause you to doubt yourself, your emotions, your needs and wants, or any other aspect of your life.

I can help you identify & heal from concerns including: a lack of secure supports, experiences of trauma, and the burnout of existing in a society that wasn't created for you.

What is intersectionality?

And why is it so important here?

Defined by Merriam-Webster as "the complex, cumulative way in which the effects of multiple forms of discrimination (such as racism, sexism, and classism) combine, overlap, or intersect especially in the experiences of marginalized individuals or groups," I visualize intersectionality as a big ol' venn diagram of your identities and experiences, especially the spaces they overlap - the intersections. Our world tends to oversimplify these as separate, unrelated categories, often trying to fit people into boxes that don't quite fit.

Another Leaf was created with the intention of breaking down these boxes and making space for all experiences and identities, especially those within the grey areas or in-between, often unseen spaces. I offer intersectional therapy to individuals located in Oregon and Washington via telehealth.
