My Approach

As a coach, I work to support you in challenging the "supposed tos" and "shoulds" of our world, educating you in helpful strategies and skills and guiding you to be more present with your needs and wants. While I utilize my therapeutic knowledge in the coaching process, it's focused more on solutions and step-by-step processes to address short-term goals.

Organizational Coaching

Are you struggling to conquer an "impossible" task or big project? Is it difficult for you to stay organized and on top of daily chores? Here's how I can help:

  • Collaborating with you to break down overwhelming tasks in to small, achievable pieces and holding you accountable in tackling these within your desired timeline

  • Exploring systems for organization and planning that work best with your brain and helping you to implement these

Food & Eating-Related Coaching

I offer coaching to address your relationship with food through an Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size-informed approach. Ways I can help:

  • Mealtime support for individuals and families navigating eating disorder/disordered eating recovery

  • Shopping support for those who may find buying groceries to be difficult or overwhelming

  • Intuitive cooking coaching - learning how to diverge from strict recipes and what food is "supposed" to look like in order to cook with more creativity, flexibility, and joy

  • Enhancing connection through food: Maybe you're navigating a multicultural relationship or blended family and want to explore this through cooking and eating a meal together. Maybe you and your partner(s) have different approaches to food and would like to find some common ground through shared experiences. Or perhaps you'd just like to try cooking and eating in a more joyfully attuned and emotionally connected way. I can help facilitate more connection - to yourself and others - in the kitchen.

FAQ

How is coaching different than therapy?

  • Therapy explores the why behind what is troubling you - it is generally a deep dive into your history, experiences, and emotions and works to heal the wounds that underlie behaviors and emotions you may have identified as negatively impacting your life and/or functioning. Therapists must be licensed or associates under supervision in order to provide these services and are limited to the states they are licensed to practice in. Therapy with me is typically longer-term and more focused on holding space for your emotions in the moment.

  • Coaching explores how to address the impact of these issues. It is more focused on problem-solving actions in the moment, rather than addressing the emotions underneath behaviors. Coaching may help you to get through a difficult situation or function in the moment and can be an added support to therapeutic healing work. Coaching is currently not regulated by any overarching licensure system or board. Coaching with me is generally more short-term and focused on education and changes in behavior, approach, or environment rather than your emotions in the moment.

 

What does coaching look like?

  • I offer coaching predominantly over telehealth, but may offer in-person support depending on individual circumstances

  • Free Initial consultation: we meet for 15-20 minutes to discuss what you’re wanting to address and determine whether or not I’m an appropriate support at this time

  • Intake session: 60 minute telehealth session to discuss your goals and come up with a coaching plan to reach these goals

  • Coaching sessions: sessions in which we work toward your goals in a step-by-step process - what these sessions look like (length, frequency, etc) depends on the individual and the coaching plan we create together

 

How much does it cost?

  • My hourly rate for coaching sessions is between $75-125 for individuals, $115-160 for multiple people. Where your rate falls on this sliding scale depends on your financial ability - lower fee spots are limited, so I ask that you be as honest as possible about your resources and need

 

Who is a good fit for coaching?

  • Generally, the coaching I offer requires you to already have some coping skills, especially around distress tolerance and emotion-regulation. It is also helpful for you to already have an awareness of any mental health diagnoses or patterns of behavior that impact the issues you would like to address in the coaching process

  • Coaching can be a great add-on to your current therapy work by helping to provide more in-the-moment, solution-focused support

  • Coaching can also help those who feel they are generally functioning stably, but are struggling to get through a stressful period or task

  • Coaching can be a valuable experience for those looking to explore a new approach to everyday experiences
